Why
Should I
Listen to
You?
Great question! Why choose me when there are a gazillion other people out there?
I have so much life experience to draw from, both personal, professional, and everything in between. I have frequently been sought out as a natural leader, but I had to figure out a lot of the soft skills on my own. I was an impulsive, emotional kid with little to no guidance on how to navigate relationships or effectively manage emotions or communicate. It wasn’t until my own therapy experiences in therapy during my college years and many years of personal work following that allowed me to finally balance intellect and drive with kindness and compassion for myself.
Coming from a cultural background that values humility, I had to work hard to understand balance, allowing for the development of a healthy sense of self-confidence, esteem, and self-efficacy that is required to do this work skillfully and effectively.
TLDR: Dr. Horng brings to her work a natural depth of character from her own lived experiences and skills honed through clinical and leadership roles.
Therapy doesn’t have to be boring! I make sure to bring my whole authentic self to sessions with my clients and encourage you to do the same through modeling. We can laugh, cry, explore creative metaphors together, all while staying laser focused on your growth.
